I never thought I would be interested in wedding photography. I had been in enough weddings to know just how chaotic and challenging they can be, especially for the photographer.
When I was approached by Lindsy asking if I would be willing to do the photos for her wedding I admit I was a little flattered but also terrified. I didn’t know if I could do it justice but I was willing to give it my best effort.
I spent a lot of time preparing for it. I obtained editing software, I questioned professional wedding photographers I knew at JFK studios based in the Maple Valley, I met with a wedding planner to get their advice and I watched videos posted online to learn more about my equipment. I spent hours getting inspiration online via Pinterest and other wedding photographers. To top it all off, I borrowed some back up equipment just in case mine failed.
(Now I get why wedding photographers are on the pricey side!)
When the big day came, I was so excited. I had a plan, a beautiful couple, and a great location. I felt a little shaky at first but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. I also discovered that lighting was going to be my biggest challenge of the day. It was a bright, sunny day and pictures were taken inside and out so I was constantly having to change my settings. But all in all, I think it turned out well and I was pretty pleased with the collection.
Jon and Lindsy made a beautiful couple and were very flexible and willing to try out my ideas. I had a lot of fun photographing their wedding.
